update

the laptop came back - but Dell didn't do all they said they would and sure enough within 45 minutes the problems started.

SO - I called them and after a 40 minute phone call they decided they should go ahead and send us a new hard drive. duh. we got it today and Darren replaced it when he got home.

so far so good. Not getting my hopes up yet, because it's only been a few hours - but I'm further than I was 2 days ago. If I'm still running smooth when he gets home tomorrow then he'll start loading programs and software....one at a time, so that if we do get issues again we will be able to tell Dell what caused it.

I'm really happy to have MY computer back. Using Darren's old tower just wasn't the same. I'm spoiled and like to have MY things MY way :)

if I don't post before the weekend - have a great one! hope you aren't experiencing the nasty heat and humidity that we are! BUT I'm looking forward to Darren having 2 days off in a row!!!! and Hailee's looking forward to her daddy making her an omelet for breakfast - she's been waiting and waiting!

tomorrow my computer gets mailed to Houston for repairs....we hope. If all goes well it will come back in LESS that 14 days and all my problems will be forever gone (well, problems with the laptop anyway).

so until I get it back this will be the last blog post I'm thinking. Unless I get inspired to mess Darren's computer all up with my images and links and things! lol

cards and art

I can share a few cards that I made recently. I filled 2 orders for family totalling 15 cards. I was able to use some design team materials for a lot of them so I'm only sharing the cards that won't be featured in the August issue of RSC.

and then there's this. Hailee's mountain scene. She saw it in the art book my dad and step-mom gave her and wanted to make it. The book had the mountains with many shades of blues but she said she wanted to do it her way. so of course she did. I like it. love her non traditional colors. right now she has a volcano in the works. she told me she was doing a birdhouse so I'm a bit confused at how it turned into a volcano, but sometimes I'm better off not asking!

they're missed already

we had a nice but short visit with mom & dad. We really wish they could've stayed longer but the plane tickets said they couldn't.

the kids are already missing them terribly and we can't wait until plans are made for them to come back and see us!

couple of cards

I'm always inspired by the talent that is oozing from the gallery at SplitCoastStampers. But this card just JUMPED at me when I saw it on their facebook page! I knew I had to create something similar.

Distressed Blossoms

Here's my take. not nearly as gorgeous, but I still just love this card and don't know if I should keep it or put it on etsy LOL

Here's another I made rather quickly. Our friends' son turned 10 on Friday and I had to have a card to go with the gift. I knew not to spend TOO much time on because I know kids really don't care about the card! LOL

I've been busy getting all my design team work done - and I did it! of course I can't share anything either {hee hee}

but I can share this ONE card. I had fun coloring it and I used the sketch over at Chi Chi Memories. I wish I had used one of her digital stamps, but my printer has been down - this was on my desk from before that. I did get hubby's printer to work so I now have some CCM images to color and hope to do that today!

{papers from basic grey/lace from stash colored with copic yg03/digital image unknown - must work on my organization so I can give proper credit! I'll be back when I have it!!!}

so Darren has had my computer the last couple days trying to figure out what is wrong. You wouldn't believe how much work I've done while not having a computer to play on! that sadly shows how bad I'm addicted to my internet service. and facebook. LOL


well we're not done yet - he's doing one little thing at a time to rule out the problem. I hope to be back up and running full speed by tomorrow! If there's anything important on facebook that I am missing - tell me here!!! LOL

smoothies!!

Darren and I have decided to start drinking smoothies for breakfast. With BOTH of us needing to lose weight (yes, he's admitting to needing a diet - or rather watch what he eats! lol) we're thinking this will be a yummy and healthy start to our day! Anything is better than a huge monster for him right? LOL

so - what are your tried and true smoothie recipes? we have learned that spinach is an essential key to a good healthy smoothie - and whey protein. Grapes, too. If I add the whey protein and spinach to my fruit do I still need flax seed?

this week I did a card

I have had this cup colored for a few days and knew it needed to go on a card. then I looked at the newest sketch for Sketchy Thursdays!!! doh! that's where I'll use it! so here it is - my card using the sketch for April 1st.

Easter cuties.

photos taken at Woodward Park, Tulsa, OK. We headed out after our breakfast and made it home in time to make dinner. Good thing - the kids were outside all day with squirt guns and by the time they came in I couldn't see any signs of their skin!!! LOL











the last 2 are my favorites. We only took about 65 photos. That's good for us actually! lol But there were TONS of people at the park so getting shots without strangers in the background was a bit of a challenge. and Hailee started crying because we wanted her to smile and she "can't smile with the sun in her eyes!!!!!!!!". Love the drama of an 8 year old. :) this last shot - my favorite - the smile is there because after the tears I told her to pic a spot that would allow her to smile without the sun in her eyes....notice the absence of flowers all around the kids????? sigh. but, I'll still scrap it! just need to get some printer ink!
