Darren and I have decided to start drinking smoothies for breakfast. With BOTH of us needing to lose weight (yes, he's admitting to needing a diet - or rather watch what he eats! lol) we're thinking this will be a yummy and healthy start to our day! Anything is better than a huge monster for him right? LOL
so - what are your tried and true smoothie recipes? we have learned that spinach is an essential key to a good healthy smoothie - and whey protein. Grapes, too. If I add the whey protein and spinach to my fruit do I still need flax seed?

For our smoothies, we use any type of frozen fruit. Bananas and strawberries are the favorite, but anything that can be blended will work. But, the fruit must be frozen first. Add a couple spoonfuls of low fat yogurt, and a small bit of low fat milk, mix, and drink. And if you want, adding a spoonful or two of peanut butter to any smoothie add additional protein to make it a little more filling. If you only use a small amount, it really isn't too noticable in the taste.
Try strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and maybe some malt. Yummm!
I think that's a milkshake, dad!! lol are you missing ice cream?
our morning smoothie right now is: spinach, blueberries, strawberries, banana, & flax seed. we're going to pick up some protein powder today after Hailee's game.
