here's what I've done so far today
...been very productive! I love when Braden plays well on his own so I can be creative! I even got to vacuum - great day.... ♥ it!
I hope you like seeing the Chloe's Closet line from Making Memories...it is making me so happy and I'm loving it! I've done 3 cards with it now, plus this layout! and I'm going to keep using it until the stack on my desk is gone! I've never loved a paper line so much! I have to thank Marti actually. I bought some of the paper last week and quickly put it away so I had it in my stash. Then Marti sent me some happy mail that included not only more of the papers but transparencies, stickers, and adhesive ribbon from KF! yay! so I decided I'd use it!
so - 2 cards for today's challenge at YMBD to use ribbon

and the layout. it's titles "no nap, Grampa". the brad is 7gypsies and says "play", the heart is Heidi Swapp, and the rest is Making Memories!!!

March 6-9 cards...oops and a layout!
just trying to get all my card posts caught up. If you haven't stopped by, you can still join the fun - all cards just need to be uploaded by March 31st to be eligible for all the prizes!!!! (ymbd link on sidebar)

I almost forgot to share a layout I made the other night - this is my grandma, my step-mom, and my BABY brother (he turns 20 this month and is almost a foot taller than me!)...handsome kid isn't he? being the youngest of my siblings my kids think he's pretty cool - I think the height helps - they climb him! lol

82 degrees!
yes, that was our high today - so of course my kids were outside playing!!! yesterday was just as nice, I did get pictures but they aren't nearly as cute as these! Hailee's top tooth is sticking out is some pictures - I wish she'd just yank it! I told her if she's lucky a soccer ball will hit her in the face tomorrow and get it out! LOL (I was KIDDING, calm down!)
well anyway - I'm glad she posed! normally she doesn't....and I asked to see her tooth but that picture didn't turn out - but then naturally Braden wanted to show me his - that's the picture with his posed grin! lol

then there's this picture - my all time favorite of the day - I did not crop or edit anything in photoshop. she still takes my breath away.

more March "card-a-day" pictures!
I'm doing all my cards somewhat similar - the reason is I'm hoping to have a nice set at the end of the month that I can use as a gift at some point. 31 cards would be a great stash for someone!
here's my most recent card - using chipboard (I ran the chip heart through my big shot with the swiss dots embossing folder)
this card was made for the border punch challenge - I love my new Martha Stewart punch!!! (oh and Kimmie - guess what M's had in stock yesterday!!! lol)
this is obviously a birthday card - using felt. I used the Queen & Co felt as a strip layered on my patterned paper!
now I'm off to do today's challenge - I'll be back in a few days!

have to share!
I received many cards for my birthday - and thank you to everyone who sent me one, I really appreciate it and loved having them displayed for a few days!
but one card in particular really touched me. it was creative. it was thoughtful. it was perfect. it made me tear up. it was from a girl who really does watch me and is showing so much more talent than I ever thought possible.
my not so little Hailee. I love that girl. look at this.
she even put it together the way I do! she worked with the patterned paper. wrapped the ribbon around it and glued on the tag ( a LOT of glue!) that says "happy birthday" and added the cut out candle. then she glued that paper onto folded white cardstock. PERFECT! I was so proud!
what you can't see is the inside. it reads:
I love you very much.
hope you have a happy birthday.
*heart* Hailee
and a drawing of a farm (her new **thing** right now.)
...sigh...

cards to share
Thanks to Marti I've been busy making some cards! In February she had a challenge to make 3 cards to give a friend as a gift - so I made these. I used the DCWV green stack and LOVE that stuff!!
NOW - she has a "card-a-day" challenge at YMBD.
Here's March 1st - use a butterfly on a card:
March 2nd - use a flower on a card:
stay tuned - there's going to be 29 more :)

I've been scrapping!!!
but I can't share! isn't that mean of me? I have made lots of fun things using the great products that sponsors have provided the RSC creative team! I got on a card kick for a while so it felt REALLY good to make some layouts! THEN I made my layout for the Stash blog - and I think I like it! lol (I usually am only happy with about half of what I make!)
what has everyone else been up to? is everyone getting warmer than normal weather like we are? stinks doesn't it? I'd like half the snow my family in WASHINGTON has had. But no. 2 small ice storms. heavy winds. a few days with cooler weather. that's all we've had. oh, we did have 2 days at 80 last week.

wow.
I just spent the last hour or so working on chore charts for the kids in excel. I need some help in that program! I got what I wanted but it sure doesn't look like an hours worth of work! lol
the reason for this? to stop the fighting! the kids fight over who gets to put a placemat on the table! Hailee's chore was to set the table and she would NOT let Braden help at all. so now it's his chore and she gets to clear it. there are other chores but that one was the worst and the fights were daily!
we'll see how the charts go over.
so how do you keep track for your kids? and do they get allowance? ours do. we're hoping that doing this will teach them that you need to work for your money - and we make them put part of their allowance in their banks to teach them about saving - something I wish I could teach myself! but who can save with so many scrappy goodies out there???? LOL

Our family day.
Last weekend, the 8th I believe, we took the kids to Fort Gibson Lake for a picnic and family day. We had nice weather, even with the wind, and knew we should take advantage of it while we had the chance. We had our packed lunch and then let the kids play.
this uprooted tree was the highlight of the picnic. The kids played at this site for about an hour and over 40 minutes was spent right here!
Hailee sat in this spot most of the time - I think she was pretending it was her boat since it was over the water. LOL
and Braden stayed toward the middle where the "knot" was - he liked to "drive" it once he was sitting :)
another uprooted tree - we laughed and told her she was climbing the wrong end - she said she just wanted the dry end! no fun I tell ya....
here's the rock he's wanting to skip across the water...
we tried to tell him it was a little big for that :)
let's not forget the fur-kid! he had fun, too!
It was a great day - we were all tired once we got home - but we're looking forward to the next outing!

yippee!!!
My little, I mean YOUNGER (she's WAY taller than I am! lol), sister found out today that she's having a baby GIRL!!!! I'm so excited for her and my brother in law! I can't wait to meet that little pink bundle! Now to get home this summer....
this is their first baby - and I'm glad they're having a girl first. In my experience, having a boy first would pretty much seal the deal on only having one child! lol I'm glad Hailee was first - she was an easier pregnancy, birth, and baby - now don't get me wrong - Braden has a place in my heart all his own - but his pregnancy, birth, and baby days were MUCH more challenging and I'm so happy to be done with all that - though I'm not so happy that he's getting bigger, and more independent, and turning into a boy rather than my little guy! lol
Briana and Parker - congrats to you both - we're all so excited for you and love you tons!

February at UYS!
The challenge at Use Your Stash!!! this month is to use RIBBON!!!! I tried to do something out of my normal "tie a knot" thing and made a looped border with a ton of scraps I had. I did have a vision - my vision was better than this - but I still think it turned out okay...especially since I didn't use ANY patterned paper at all on this layout. whew, it wasn't easy I must say. (Kimmie and I could do a patterned paper challenge every month for a year on the stash blog and I'd still have tons left over!)
so here's my layout - but you have to click the link for UYS!!! and go see what the girls did! wowzers...butterfly tails, cupcakes, accents and more - really so awesome! I'm in awe of our design team!
on the 15th we'll post I'll post our cards - mine is done and though I didn't get creative in the least, the card itself is very cute and I'll be happy to mail it out someday!

I wish I would've used a different color ribbon - but I had it glued together before I could fix it.....

Valentine Card/CBI17
time to think about Valentine's Day everyone!!!
for this card I used red bazzill cardstock, embossed the edge with a cuttlebug folder then swiped it with white ink. I stamped the deer (from Elle's Etsy shop) using CTMH pink ink then outlined them with black and used a nestability die to cut the scallop square...kaiser pearls are the eyes! the chip letters are by Heidi and the flower is Prima - the heart brad is either Making Memories or Paper studio - I really can't remember! lol and I tried to make a little bow in the floral center, LOL. thanks for looking - have fun making yours!

8 things on my mind today
*my son is potty trained. thank goodness! wow, what a relief.
*that same son doesn't suck his thumb anymore. at all. ever. not even if I ask. I miss it. my baby...
*my daughter can read. she's very good at it though she's still intimidated by it.
*I like bread with seeds in it. I've decided that's the best kind of bread to have. EarthGrains Wheat Berry to be exact.
*coffee. how would I get through my days without it?
*I love my husband. more than air. but he needs to keep busy this time of year. he's awful when he's bored.
*I like to create. layouts. cards. as long as there's paper and duck runner involved I'm pretty happy.
*I miss sleep. I got to try it out when my mom was here and also my in-laws. that was just so mean to tease me with it. I'd like to sleep some more.

one for me
I did a couple layouts for RSC yesterday and decided that I really enjoy making layouts. I was on a big card kick and couldn't stop! So after making my mom's birthday card I made this layout. and I like it. Hailee likes it, too, so that's good enough for me!
Have a great weekend :)

stash work
I haven't made any layouts in ages! I did a layout and these cards for the StaSH item (brads) this month - but other than that I've been doing cards for rSc and that's it! I'm making some tags for my EtsY shop though, hoping for some sales.
What have you been creating? share - I need some inspiration!
I shared the layout earlier - but here are the cards

yay for Gramma and potty training!
While my mom was here she got the ball rolling for Braden to start potty training. How I don't know. Whenever Darren and I would talk to him about going he just said no...had NO interest what-so-ever. Then mom asks and he goes. and he goes. and he goes. Yesterday I returned a big box of diapers back to Sam's Club and went and bought a small pack (for bedtime) along with pull ups (for outings) and more undies (for home). We're hoping we don't need them all - but he's only gone in a public potty one day - that was yesterday - and he went at 2 different stores, lol.
So - I would say he's 75% there. He stays dry during a nap. Goes when he gets the urge. Hasn't had any accidents in 2 days (there was that one time 2 days ago when he forgot to "tuck it in" but we're not counting that). And isn't afraid of a public restroom like another child I have....
so thank you, mom - you've saved us $40/month in diapers!!!
