Wendi posted this in the announcement forum yesterday - please pop in and say good-bye :(
On January 1, 2009, Scrapbook Playground will be closing the site. With the close of the store in May of 2008, it has become financially impossible to continue to run the site so the decision to close has been made. The Happy Box kit club is continuing and announcements in regards to the kits will be made on the Scrapbook Playground blog. Thank you for the wonderful years of fun - the Playground will be missed.
Wendi was the first person to give me a chance on her design team - and for that I thank her. It made me try harder and helped me improve my scrapping.
Thank you, Wendi, for a wonderful 3 1/2 years - I'll miss you and the playground.

feels good to create something! I haven't made a scrapbook page in quite a while (for me anyway!) and tonight I came home from a birthday party and made one! Felt good! Now I think I'll do more.....the only thing I need to do between now and Christmas is a little cleaning - and that can be done Tuesday before my mom's flight lands..hehehe! okay so I need to grocery shop Monday but that won't take too long :)
it's not the best page - but I like it...and I used scraps and some stash (see the eyelets, Kimmie!) so I love the process just as much as the end result!
4 more days til Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kimmie made the tag under the journaling - isn't it cute? I thought the bubbles went well with the page and picture!

I grabbed a hold of the Etsy bug. It's {her} fault. She started it. Yep - I'm blaming her. and I can because she really did push me!
I have 4 cards listed on there right now...no hits yet, but people are looking so that's okay.
So - if you want to check it out go {here} and at least bookmark me so you can see what I have in the future!!
that's all. more wrapping to do tonight but if I'm lucky I'll be done....at least until mom's wrapping paper shows up from Hailee's fundraiser and then I'll wrap the stuff in my attic. sigh. things we do for our parents {{WINK}}

man - so many things going on I'm spinning circles and can't remember which way I'm supposed to go! sheesh! but I love the holidays! presents. Santa. snow. sweaters. shopping. wrapping. family. trees. bows. music. aaaaaahh!
Today Darren and I went to run a couple small errands - we left around 10:30 am or so and got home....oh around 4:15pm! Had to call the neighbor to get Hailee from the bus! but we accomplished a lot - though it doesn't seem that way, lol.
Tomorrow we get to go BACK out and find a holiday sweater for Braden to wear Sunday for Santa pictures and the CHRISTMAS TRAIN...plus Hailee needs shoes for the same occasions. and more gutter clips are needed. and and and.
I love Christmas!!!

this is what my first grader looks like! I just love this photo! Her smile turned out pretty darn cute (these are retakes and the first set was AWFUL!) and since I pulled her hair back you can't tell she had been playing half the day....well except for the wrinkled shirt that I wasted my time ironing! lol

now this next picture is just hilarious - when Braden is outside he's constantly rubbing his nose (I think it itches). So before I took the shot I asked him to put his hand down. I think he thought I said HEAD because this is what was on the camera! LOL

does he not look just evil to you? what a FACE! LOL gotta love pictures like this - a funny memory forever now :)

also - been drooling over the pumpkin recipes at PW's blog (link on the right) and I'm thinking of making some puree this year and having a pumpkin feast! I'll have to get my own pumpkins, I won't want the "leftovers" from the kids' carving! lol But I want to make the pumpkin butter and cake for SURE! and I'm going to try seeds again - last year it didn't turn out that great but I refuse to give up hope that I can do it - I mean it isn't difficult. and the seeds are lowfat so I have to do it. have to.
I'll let you know how that goes :)
I'm more than half way through New Moon. It's not pulling me in the way Twilight did, I'm falling asleep a lot :) but I have 2 more to read and I WILL read them all! I can't go into details - but if a certain someone doesn't show up in my pages soon I'm going to freak out!
oh - and I had a CT scan today. Yep, went and had pictures of my brain taken. Do you know what they charge for that? Highway robbery I tell you. anyway - if anything comes back that is worth talking about I'll let you know :)
I didn't make it through to round 3 over at YMBD. I'm really not surprised - I have thoughts on that - but I'm okay with it because I have a lot on my plate right now. I'm going to get going on my RSC projects (some are turning into Christmas gifts!) and continue reading and start a "holiday plan".
Here's the layout I did for round 2 - I can share it now. doesn't he look so intense?? LOL

oh and I have to do a layout for round 2 in the "So You Think You Can Scrap" contest also at YMBD. I can't share that one, but come by Friday after 8pm eastern (until Sunday) and cast your vote for your favorite layout there. There are SO many great scrappers in round 2 so I imagine it will be a difficult vote for ya'll!
I think that's it. I'm going to go change a diaper now because that is what I do :)

well I read Twilight. wow. it didn't take long. I would say total hours was maybe 8. one day I read for about 3 hours, the other day only an hour, then the next day I finished it! I'm super excited for New Moon. the odd thing is I am SO not into vampires - but the book was so different. I've seen the previews for the movie that's due to come out in November and I think it's geared in the "normal" vampire direction - I hope I'm wrong.
I think I finally have my Christmas cards all planned out. I've made about 15 or so cards and today I put one together using a Technique Tuesday stamp along with an Autumn Leaves stamp, ribbon, and patterned paper. ta-da! so now I just need a ribbon sale so I can stock up and get these puppies on the assembly line! yay! I'm so super ready for Christmas I can hardly stand it.
but - I must first get a list together for the kids' fall/winter clothing needs. It's almost time to do the shopping - we're hoping for cooler weather here in the next couple weeks. I found a coat I like at Target for Hailee so that's one thing that will be easy - Braden should still fit in his Carhartt from last year - so cute.
let's see - oh - world cardmaking day. October 4th. Check the {Use Your Stash} blog for some card prompts to challenge you. Also, there will be a sort of "card crop" at the {Playground} - so check in there, too!
then you can also check in at the {Playground} on October 17th for a crop hosted by the Bullies!!!
I think that's all folks.
see you next time!
